for parents
our Visitation process
Initial Intake & Assessment
Before supervised time begins, an intake session will be conducted, during which the supervisor will meet with the child(ren) and the parent they reside with. The duration of this session is determined by the supervisor and may take up to 30 minutes.
The primary purpose of the intake session is to help the child become familiar with the supervisor before transitioning into supervised time with the other parent. This session also provides the resident parent an opportunity to communicate any important concerns regarding the child’s care, such as food allergies, medical needs, toileting, or other specific requirements.
Supervised Contact
Visits take place in a safe, neutral, and child-friendly environment under the guidance of a professionally trained supervisor, who remains within sight and earshot of the child and visiting parent at all times.
The supervisor monitors interactions, encourages positive communication, and supports the child’s wellbeing throughout the session, intervening only if the child’s safety or comfort is at risk. Sessions are always conducted in accordance with any relevant court orders or parenting arrangements.
Observation & Reporting
Each supervised visitation session is carefully documented in a detailed written report, which can be used for legal purposes. These reports provide an objective record of the interactions between the child and the supervised parent, including observations on engagement, communication, and overall behavior.
The reports are factual and impartial, ensuring that solicitors, courts, and other relevant parties have an accurate account of each session. Any concerns, incidents, or noteworthy moments are also recorded to provide a clear picture of the visitation process. These reports play a crucial role in assisting legal proceedings and decision-making regarding the child’s best interests.
changeover facilitation
How it Works
SafeBridge Family Services facilitates smooth and conflict-free changeovers by carefully staggering the arrival and departure times of both parents. This ensures that they do not come into direct contact, reducing the risk of tension or disputes.
Parents will receive clear instructions via email outlining the designated drop-off and pick-up times, as well as specific procedures to follow. Our trained supervisors oversee the transition, ensuring the child is safely transferred from one parent to the other in a calm and neutral environment.
This structured approach prioritizes the child’s emotional well-being while maintaining a respectful and stress-free process for both parents.
